Energy

Government energy initiatives aim to make energy use more efficient for a variety of applications (automotive, domestic, commercial, industrial) with a special emphasis on reduced energy use and ensuring that our sources of energy have positive, or less harmful environmental impacts.

BioEnergy is produced by the release of stored chemical energy contained in fuels made from biomass. Biomass is any organic material that has been converted into energy, and plays an important role in the creation of biofuels. Biofuels are produced with the help from renewable resources (plants, organic waste, etc.) and can be used as an alternative to fossil fuels (oil, gas).

The Canadian bioEnergy industry can be broken down into four subsectors: processing heat and/or electricity, space and water heat, automobile fuel and heavy vehicle fuel.
